Sven Renner

Sven has been with the World Bank for 7 years. Before that, he held various positions in German government and was, among others, in charge of designing the federal policy on raw materials. Between 1996 and 2009 he managed the bureaus of the German Cooperation in the mining sector in Chile and Bolivia. He initiated his career in the mining industry in 1986 as an exploration geologist in the Pijiguaos bauxite deposit in Venezuela. Sven is a geologist by training and holds a Ph.D. from Tübingen University. Since 2017 he has been an honorary lecturer at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law (CEPMLP), University of Dundee.
