Valérie Levkov is the Global Industry Director for Energy, Metals & Mining and Sustainable Infrastructure Advisory at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. In this role, she has oversight for delivering innovative, holistic solutions that address the energy and mining needs of IFC’s member countries, while fostering strategic relationships with IFC’s energy and mining clients. Her role extends to the provision of advisory services that assist clients in building positive community relationships and linkages, with a strong focus on gender and climate. Valérie is a seasoned energy leader with 36 years of experience at Électricité de France (EDF), where she held a variety of positions, including Manager of Research and Development. In her most recent role, as Senior Vice President for Africa and the Middle East, she oversaw the development of 40 large-scale, decarbonized energy projects across more than 10 countries in Africa. This portfolio included hydropower and biomass power plants, high-voltage, direct-current, submarine lines, decentralized solar arrays, off-grid solutions for rural populations, and energy efficiency upgrades. Valérie holds a master's degree in telecommunications from École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, Bretagne, and a master's degree in business and procurement from Institut d'Administration des Entreprises, Grenoble.
