Coming to Mining Indaba? Here's what you need to know.

Investing in African Mining Indaba takes place in heart of Cape Town at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). Convention Square, 1 Lower Long Street, Cape Town, 8001, South Africa

*Please note: Entry to the event will require photo ID to collect your badge.

VENUE INFORMATION – TRANSPORT

Mining Indaba is being held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC 1) located on Convention Square, 1 Lower Long Street.  

Car parking is available in P1 and P5 for a daily fee.  Taxi’s and Ubers can stop at the dedicated drop zone on Walter Sisulu Avenue.

Please email [email protected] to request a visa support letter.  Please include the name of the delegate with their registration number.  Letters will only be issued on receipt of payment.

Cloakroom:
A cloakroom is available on Level 1.  Please note luggage is not allowed at the event and should be left with your hotel concierge.  The organisers will not be held responsible for any items left in the cloakroom and you do so at your own risk.

Internet:
Free Wi-Fi will be available for all delegates.  Instructions will be available on arrival.

BADGES

Barcodes will be issued one week before the event if the pass has been fully paid.  At registration, present the barcode to collect your badge.  Your badge provides access to the event or any permitted networking functions. Without your badge, entry will be refused.

CATERING & DIETARIES

Refreshments will available all day within the Main Gallery.  

Lunch will be provided for all delegates in the Lunch Hall on Level 1 between 12:00 – 14:00 Monday to Thursday. 

Vegetarian and vegans will be catered for.  If you have any specific dietary requirements, please email us via [email protected].

NETWORKING EVENTS

Gala Dinner - Invite only

World Gold Council Reception, Monday 6 February at Roof Terrace, CTICC 1 between 17:00 – 19:00.   Invite only.

Infratech Networking Reception, Wednesday 8 February, Main Gallery, CTICC 1 between 17:00 – 19:00.   All welcome.

EXHIBITORS - ACCESS

Exhibitor access is Sunday 5 February from 16:00 – 18:00 to dress their stands.  

For event days please see Opening times.

Exhibitor breakdown commences from 13:30 on Thursday 9 February but not earlier.  Contractor access will be once it is safe to do so, estimated 16:00.

MINING INDABA APP

To begin arranging meetings with your fellow delegates, view the agenda and build your schedule for the week, please download the official Mining Indaba app. Please note, there will be no printed agenda this year.

SPEAKERS

If you are due to speak at the event or are unsure of where you need to report to or have questions about your presentation please email [email protected]. 

STUDENTS

Students are welcome to join the event on Wednesday 8 February only.  All student passes need to be verified in advance and can only be collected on the day.  Please note that student passes are not valid for any of the evening networking functions.

Accredited members can apply to attend.  If approved, a barcode will be issued a week before the event in order for you to collect your badge onsite.  There is a dedicated press lounge, operated by our PR company including places to work, branded interview walls and a video recording booth..

SECURITY AT THE EVENT

Your delegate badge permits access to the event and any approved networking functions.  No badge means no entry.

All delegates will pass through airport style security on arrival at CTICC.  This is also a firearm free event.

Security concerns should be reported to the Venue Operations Centre located in room 2.35.

SECURITY IN CAPE TOWN

Crime, especially petty theft, can be prevalent in Cape Town.  Delegates are encouraged to remain vigilant at all times and should get taxi’s across the city especially at night.  South African Police can be contacted in an emergency on 10111.

COVID-19

All Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted by the South African Government.  We ask delegates to respect those who still follow certain measures including mask wearing, not shaking hands and maintaining social distancing. The organisers will provide hand sanitiser in high traffic areas and high standards of cleanliness at the venue.
