Taking part in Mining Indaba last year, Akobo Minerals had the pleasure of participating in the ESG Awards (Responsible Resourcing Awards), where we were recognized for our commitment to environmental sustainability by winning the ESG Nature Award. This recognition was not only important to us but also for the industry. I am happy to see Mining Indaba taking the lead, focusing on the important ESG aspects of exploration & mining. We look forward to seeing more ESG focus & initiatives next year.

Base Resources was pleased to be recognised for our ESG practices at the Mining Indaba 2023. Receiving the Labour and Transparency Award, and the response we received on the announcement of these awards across the board from our stakeholders in Kenya – the Government of Kenya and Kwale County representatives, national and regional regulatory authorities, partner CSOs, our communities and our employees is evidence that we are doing things right and that our presence is valued.
