Driving sustainable investment in African Mining

Abdoulaye Diallo Sireya

Head Mining Desk Ecobank Guinea

Abdoulaye brings over 19 years of professional experience across banking, supply chain management, and operations, with a strong track record in leadership and value creation. He began his career in 2008 at Cellcom, where he served as Head of Logistics and Procurement, contributing to operational optimization and strategic decision-making. He joined Ecobank Guinea 14 years ago as Head of EBS, playing a key role in the Group-wide restructuring of the function through the implementation of robust policies and best practices. In 2022, he transitioned to Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) as a Global Corporates Relationship Manager and Credit Analyst. In December 2023, Abdoulaye was appointed to lead the newly created Mining & Chinese Business Division, strategically positioning Ecobank Guinea at the heart of the mining sector, with a strong focus on the Simandou Project (world’s largest integrated mining and infrastructure project with USD 20 billion investment). Following strong early results, the Bank established the Mining & Chinese Desk in August 2024, encompassing Corporates, SMEs, and Employees, and entrusted Abdoulaye with its leadership. Under his direction, the Desk successfully converted all major mining stakeholders, significantly increasing Ecobank’s market share and contributing - directly and indirectly - to over +35% of the Bank’s revenues. Very passionate and focused on achieving goals, Abdoulaye is recognized for building strong ecosystem pollination, driving high returns, and accelerating business growth. He holds three (3) Master’s degrees in Computer Science, Banking and finance, Corporate Management, one (1) MBA, and a Global Executive MBA, along with multiple professional certifications in corporate finance, commodities, leadership, and mining.

2026 Agenda Sessions

Finance for a diversifying economy: How Ecobank is delivering on Simandou 2040's promise

Guinea is entering a new phase of economic acceleration, driven by large-scale mining developments and the broader national ambitions articulated under the Simandou 2040 framework

In this session, Ecobank Guinea shares a market-driven perspective on how investors, mining developers, mining project sponsors, and strategic partners can access and structure opportunities across Guinea’s mining value chain and adjacent sectors, including infrastructure, logistics, energy, and other supporting industries.

Drawing on its on-the-ground presence and regional platform, Ecobank illustrates how capital can be efficiently connected to credible local and cross-border projects, and what investors should consider when navigating market entry, partnerships, and execution in Guinea.

Rather than focusing on policy or programme governance, the discussion will centre on:
• Where bankable opportunities are emerging in Guinea today
• How mining activity is catalysing broader multi-sector growth
• Practical considerations for deploying capital in a complex but high-potential market
• How financial institutions can act as effective bridges between international capital and local execution

This session is designed for investors, financiers, project sponsors, and strategic partners
seeking actionable insights into Guinea’s evolving investment landscape, informed by
the Simandou 2040 context but grounded in market realities
