Chief Choongo is the Chief of the Tonga people of Southern Province. A Business Administrator and renowned academician. He brings to the fore a rare combination of private sector experience and traditional leadership. He is a dedicated leader whose life is focused on helping people acquire knowledge, both formal and informal, on how they can better their lives and the environment. He is known to be an ardent advocate of promoting sustainable agriculture through the use of organic fertilizers as a safe and quickest approach to redeem our environment from climate change effects and combating, rehabilitation and re-integration of people associated with substance abuse. He is the Chairperson of the the House of Chiefs for Zambia where his leadership has seen transformative change towards traditional governance.
