Head of Sourcing and Business Development Rand Refinery

Jason is currently the Head: Sourcing and Business Development for Rand Refinery (Pty) Ltd – Rand Refinery is one of the world’s leading gold and silver refiners and operates one of Africa’s largest low-grade gold recovery smelters. Here Jason leverages off his engineering and consulting experience to deliver value. 
Jason leads a team that are responsible for marketing Rand Refinery's refining & smelter services, attracting new clients, maintaining the existing client base, pricing, contracting, and responsible sourcing. The commercial aspects of the refinery and smelter depositing base (i.e. Rand Refinery’s gold mining customers and partners) is also handled by Jason and his team.
Jason is active in the area of responsible sourcing, blockchain implementation, and reporting / disclosure initiatives. This supports Rand Refinery’s supply chain transparency. Furthermore Jason is active in various forums in developing a strategic plan to support and integrate ASM gold into the good delivery list refiner production.
Previously Jason was a Manager at Deloitte Consulting, and prior to this he sought funding and ran a variety of research, development and commercialisation projects at Mintek.
