Jørgen Evjen is the Chief Executive Officer of Akobo Minerals AB (publ), a Scandinavian gold exploration and mining company listed on Euronext Growth Oslo. With more than 25 years of executive experience in finance, compliance, and business development, he has successfully led companies through complex growth, restructuring, and capital-raising processes. Holding a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Université des Sciences Sociales (Toulouse I), Evjen has a strong background in corporate strategy and international operations. Under his leadership, Akobo Minerals has transitioned from an exploration company to Ethiopia’s first new international gold producer in three decades. He has been instrumental in securing landmark financing from institutional and sovereign investors, strengthening governance, and driving sustainable operational performance. Evjen’s approach combines financial discipline, stakeholder engagement, and long-term value creation. His vision for Akobo Minerals is to build a profitable and responsible mining company contributing to Ethiopia’s resource development and to expand into a diversified portfolio of precious and critical minerals across East Africa.
