Kym Fullgrabe is an experienced business owner, diplomat and government advisor, with extensive understanding of trade and investment issues at the highest level.
Kym is a Director of Mputlelele Enterprises Ltd in Johannesburg, South Africa and Kymjose SGS Ltd in Ndola, Zambia. He is also a founding partner in companies in Australia and Brazil. These entities have links with business associates in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana, DRC and Zimbabwe and facilitate trade and investment through-out Africa. Focus is on mining supplies, water treatment and renewable energy (Solar PV) sectors.
Kym is a former Australian Government Trade Commissioner for Africa (managing offices in Johannesburg, Nairobi, Accra and Mauritius). He was also Australian Consul General for Brazil and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner in London.
Earlier in his career Kym was a senior advisor to the Australian Federal Government and served on the Boards of companies and government bodies (such as the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation). He also worked for the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris and the United Nations Framework Convention for Climate Change negotiations.
He is a member of the Institute of Business Advisors in Southern Africa (IBASA).

Africa Mining...who has the Power?
- The total energy generated each year in the African continent is less than half that of Spain. So how will African miners meet the growing global demands for minerals - especially when increasing uncertainties arising from more severe El Nino events and changing climatic patterns are threatening the viability of hydro-power as a primary source of electrical energy.
- The panel will discuss a range of potential solutions to the energy crisis, including new power generation technologies, improved levels of energy use and circularity, the role of Government power authorities, and greater cooperation and innovation across African Regional Power pool
- If power shortages become permanent, what impact will this have on project risk profiles, the ability of companies to raise funds for African mining projects
