Prof. Rongqing Zhang

Dr. Rongqing Zhang is an associated professor in School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Nanjing University. His research areas focus on metallogeny of W-Sn rare metals and low U mineral U-Pb geochronology. He visited lots of mineral deposits in China, Erzgebirge Sn-W province in Germany, Cornwall Sn province in UK, Andes Cu and Sn mineralization belt in Bolivia and Chile, Northern Cape granite belt in South Africa and Damara orogenic belt in Namibia. He has special interests in the genesis of tin deposits in Africa and did some research works using in-situ cassiterite U-Pb-Hf-O-Sn and trace elements analysis to figure out the formation of Sn deposits in South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia, DR Congo, Cameroon, Rwanda, Algeria and Egypt. He published more than 100 papers in journals such as Geology, GSA Bulletin, Mineralium Deposita, Chemical Geology, Ore Geology Reviews. His publications attracted more than 5200 citations and H-Index of 40 provided by Google Scholar. He is the editorial board members of Scientific Reports, Geofluids, and several Chinese journals.
