Wihan Marx is an accomplished mining professional whose career reflects deep technical expertise and strong leadership across engineering, safety, and operational environments. He began his career in underground coal mining as a qualified Millwright, later progressing to Engineering Foreman. During this time, he obtained his Government Certificate of Competency and went on to serve as a Section Engineer for a total of six years, gaining comprehensive experience in both underground and opencast operations. As part of his development journey, Wihan transitioned into the safety discipline, where he quickly demonstrated an ability to influence culture, strengthen systems, and drive sustainable improvement.  He was appointed as a Safety Manager at an Opencast operation before advancing to Group Safety Manager, overseeing multiple opencast and underground operations within Seriti. Recognised for his strategic mindset, operational insight, and principled leadership, Wihan is committed to building high-performing teams, enhancing organisational resilience, and ensuring excellence in safety, compliance, and risk management. He continues to make a meaningful impact through his focus on people, purpose-driven leadership, and disciplined execution.
