Canga Xiaquivuila, is a geologist, completed his secondary and higher education in Kyiv, Ukraine, specializing in Geology and Prospecting of Non-Metallic Minerals, and later obtained a postgraduate degree in Geology. He began his career at Endiama in Angola in 1989 and joined De Beers Angola in 1999. From 2002, he worked with the De Beers Group in South Africa, Namibia, and Angola, holding senior roles in mineral rights, exploration, and technical planning, including Exploration Manager and later Technical and Planning Director in Angola. He also served as an advisor to Angola’s Minister of Geology and Mines and led the Geological Institute of Angola (IGEO) as Director General, CEO and Chairman. Currently, he is the Head of Rio Tinto in Angola. He is a member of the Geological Society of Africa and speaks Portuguese, Russian, English, and French.
