Lightness Mushi is a distinguished communicator and business development expert dedicated to advancing sustainable development in Tanzania’s extractive industry. As Head of Communication for Tanzania Women in Mining and Mineral Industry (TWiMMI), she champions initiatives that amplify the voices of women and youth, fostering collaboration to drive meaningful change. 
Through TWiMMI, Lightness has been instrumental in delivering capacity-building programs to over 2,400 women and youth in mining, emphasizing technical skills, value addition, mentorship, and business acumen. She also leads educational outreach initiatives that promote safer, more sustainable mining practices by addressing mercury exposure and distributing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enhance community health and environmental stewardship. 
As Director of Business Development at Raddy International Company Ltd, she oversees strategic growth, cultivates partnerships, and develops safety-focused solutions tailored to Tanzania’s mining sector. Her expertise enables innovative approaches to risk management while supporting socio-economic development. 
Lightness is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and sustainability within Africa’s mining sector. Her dream is to see communities around mining areas thrive, where inclusivity, safety, and sustainability drive transformative socio-economic growth, contributing meaningfully to Africa’s development narrative.
