Richard Tayelor

Richard is a seasoned mining executive with almost two decades of experience in >20 African countries and on four continents. He began his career as a South African geologist with technical consulting roles in exploration, development and operations. He transitioned into consulting with Deloitte’s Mining Advisory and later boutique management consulting, following which he entered the Private Equity space for a major industry player with over USD13Billion under management globally where he managed their African portfolio’s origination and business development arm for Mining and Metals. 

He recently joined the executive team of Horizon Corporation, a private London based mining company with operating copper and gold mines in USA and Africa respectively, and an exciting pipeline of development projects.

For extracurricular endeavours, Richard completed a master’s degree in engineering from WITS University, founded a coal trading company in South Africa selling niche coal products locally, learned French and moved to France where he resides currently.
