Nicolas Treand

Nicolas Treand joined ERG Africa as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in March 2024. With 25 years of experience, he has distinguished himself through his commitment to excellence, strategic leadership and driving positive change within the mining and commodities sectors.
His strong expertise in strategic planning, trading, innovation, and corporate governance has led to achieving significant results.
Prior to joining ERG Africa, Nicolas served on the boards of various industry-related companies and operated an independent business focused on asset management, mergers and acquisitions, and project financing. Additionally, he held the position of CEO at Trafigura Mining Group (Trafigura Pte Ltd) with responsibility for all of the group’s mining and smelting assets and was an Executive Director at Aurubis AD (Aurubis Bulgaria part of Aurubis AG).
Nicolas holds a Masters’ degree in Microtechnics Engineering from Hautes Ecoles Spécialisées in Lausanne, Switzerland, and has completed specialised executive training in General Management, Strategic Marketing, and Strategic Finance at the International Institute for Management Development.
