Peace Zowa
Geoscientist DSI NRF CIMERA
Peace is a geoscientist with expertise in the mining and exploration of epithermal gold deposits and LCT pegmatites in Zimbabwe. Currently pursuing a PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand, he is investigating the origins of magmas responsible for PGE mineralisation in the Bushveld Complex. Actively engaged in the geoscience community, Peace is a member of the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG), the Geological Society of South Africa (GSSA), and the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP). With a passion for leadership, Peace has held several influential roles, including serving as the SEG student representative for Africa, where he fosters student chapter growth and connects African students with the global SEG network. He also represents students within the GSSA, encouraging their engagement in professional organisations, conferences, and continuous professional development through certifications. In addition to his geoscience focus, Peace serves on the advisory board of the African Energy and Economic Youth Council (AEEYC), where he advises on energy policies, identifies opportunities in renewable energy, promotes youth entrepreneurship, and advocates for sustainable energy solutions. His dedication to fostering knowledge-sharing and professional growth makes him a dynamic next-generation leader in the geoscience and energy sectors.
