Theophilus Adoko

Policy Development Officer   African Minerals Development Centre

Theophilus Boadu Adoko is the Policy Development Officer at the African Minerals Development Centre (AMDC). In this role, he analyzes policy decisions of Member States, recommends and advocate for the adoption of policy alternatives towards integration and alignment of national policies with the African Mining Vision to drive minerals-based industrialization, and broad-based sustainable growth and socio-economic development of the continent. He previously worked as Policy Lead for Minerals and Mining Policy at the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP).  
He has experience in governance reforms in the mining sectors in the West African sub-region having had professional work experiences in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ghana, and Liberia. He has co-authored research papers some of which are: a Gap analysis of the contracting regime of Nigeria’s mining sector; a Study on the relevance of tax exemptions in Ghana’s mining sector; Improving the monitoring of quarry production with remote monitoring technologies contained in the Future of Resource Taxation Handbook published by the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining; and Energy Regulation in Africa: Dynamics, Challenges, and Opportunities. He has consulted for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and the World Food Program (WFP).
